SGS Strategic Planning Retreat
Thank you to all who participated in the survey to members that was distributed in July 2015 as part of the SGS strategic planning process. It is very important to have input from our members as we develop a three to five year plan. We were very pleased to report that we had a 35% response rate for our survey.
On August 21 and 22 we held an SGS strategic planning retreat. It was a very intensive meeting with a focus on SGS strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities. The participants in the group were SGS board members and other invited SGS active and associate members. The four main pillars for our plan focus on 1) education 2) financial stability/organizational efficiency 3) membership and 4) visibility. As we finalize the action plan we will keep you informed about the goals for SGS over the next several years. We hope that you will find an area of interest to get involved when we provide the final action steps for our plan. During the SGS Annual Scientific meeting April 10-13 we will briefly review the strategic plan at the business meeting on Tuesday April 11. If you have any questions about the strategic plan please contact me at [email protected] .
