A Tradition of Mentoring

A defining characteristic of SGS is its culture of generous giving. This extends beyond financial support of programs to include the active mentorship and outreach of its leaders and members who nurture the next generation of gynecologic surgeons. Education, mentorship, and relationship building are central to the SGS mission, and training and fostering meaningful professional relationships are hallmarks of what SGS is known for.

This commitment is reflected in the many opportunities extended to nonmembers who are exploring the support available from SGS experts. These opportunities include the Fellow Scholars Program, participation in the Winter Postgraduate Course or Annual Meeting, engagement through the Fellows Pelvic Research Network (FPRN), and research collaboration via the Pelvic Anatomy Group (PAG) website. When SGS leadership considers whether a program or communication should be extended to nonmembers or prospective members, the decision is most often to be inclusive.
