Basic Registration includes access to the full 4-day meeting, taking place from Sunday, March 22 to Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

You can customize your registration by adding optional events for an additional fee, including Postgraduate Courses and Social Activities. During registration, you’ll also have the option to make a donation to support various SGS funds.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Requests for cancellations or refunds must be submitted in writing by February 1, 2026. A $100 administrative fee will be applied to all cancellations. After February 1, 2026, all fees are non-refundable.

Course Description:

Mastery of gynecologic surgery requires more than training in the traditional apprenticeship model it demands a modernized approach grounded in evidence-based strategies that foster technical excellence, clinical judgment, and professional growth. This course centers on three essential themes in contemporary surgical education: innovative educational strategies, surgical coaching, and competency-based assessment.

Designed for junior and senior faculty surgical educators involved in resident and fellow training, the course will explore practical tools such as simulation-based learning and gaming, structured feedback models, and progressive entrustment frameworks that promote operative preparedness and learner autonomy.

A central focus will be the integration of surgical coaching as a transformative method to support learners at all skill levels. Participants will examine how coaching principles can enhance skill acquisition, encourage reflective practice, and address the needs of technically challenged trainees through individualized support. Special attention will be given to the role of psychological safety, the nuances of feedback delivery, and strategies for incorporating real-time coaching within the constraints of high-volume clinical settings.

The course will preview how surgical educators can start preparing for the transition towards competency-based in gynecologic surgical education, highlighting the importance of reliable, feasible tools to evaluate technical performance. Faculty will review validated instruments with guidance on how to apply them effectively in the gynecologic operating room. Participants will learn how to integrate these assessments into daily practice to support meaningful feedback, inform advancement decisions, and drive continuous learner development.

By the end of the course, attendees will be equipped with a comprehensive, practical framework for teaching, coaching, and assessing surgical performance in gynecologic surgery training.

Course Objectives:
1. Describe and apply innovative educational strategies including gaming and simulation, structured feedback, and graduated autonomy to enhance operative preparedness in gynecologic surgery trainees.
2. Implement surgical coaching techniques to support skill acquisition, promote reflective practice, and effectively engage both high-performing and struggling learners in the clinical setting.
3. Utilize competency-based assessment tools to evaluate surgical performance, provide formative feedback, and guide entrustment decisions in gynecologic surgical training.

Coding in Gynecologic Surgery

Course Description:

This postgraduate course is designed to equip urogynecologists, fellows, and coding professionals with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to navigate the complex landscape of billing and coding in urogynecology. With increasing scrutiny from payers, evolving coding requirements, and the financial pressures on clinical practice, accurate documentation and coding have become essential not only for compliance but also for sustaining high-quality patient care.

Over the course of four hours, participants will engage in a series of lectures, case-based discussions, and interactive coding workshops led by experienced faculty. The curriculum covers fundamental and advanced coding principles, including ICD-10 and CPT code application, modifier use, surgical procedure coding, payer-specific policies, and strategies for managing denials and appeals. Real-world operative notes and clinical scenarios will be used to reinforce key concepts and allow participants to apply coding rules in a hands-on format.

By the conclusion of the course, attendees will have improved confidence in applying coding principles to both straightforward and complex cases. They will leave with practical strategies for enhancing documentation, minimizing errors, optimizing reimbursement, and navigating payer requirements in urogynecology practice. This course is highly interactive, offering participants the opportunity to learn from faculty expertise, peer collaboration, and case-based problem solving.

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

Accurately apply ICD-10 and CPT codes for common urogynecologic conditions and procedures.

Identify and correctly use modifiers to maximize compliance and reimbursement.

Document patient encounters and operative reports to support coding and billing claims.

Navigate payer-specific rules, prior authorizations, and appeals for urogynecologic services.

Apply coding principles in complex and multi-procedure cases through case-based exercises.
