SGS has signed on to Planned Parenthood v. US Department of HHS, along with ACOG and 13 other medical societies.
The brief’s central argument is that new federal Title X funding priorities threaten to replace evidence-based, patient-centered reproductive health care with government-directed clinical priorities. The organizations contend that HHS’s July 9, 2026 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) creates a conflict for medical providers: to remain competitive for federal funding, clinics may need to adopt practices that the amici believe contradict established medical guidelines, professional ethics, and existing Title X regulations. They argue that these changes could restrict access to contraception, pregnancy counseling, STI testing, infertility services, and other essential health care, particularly for underserved populations.
The brief asks the court to grant Planned Parenthood’s motion for summary judgment and prevent implementation of the challenged funding notice.
