INVITATION TO ATTEND The
Society of Gynecologic Surgeons would like to cordially invite
you to attend its 31st Annual Scientific Meeting. This year’s
meeting promises to be exciting and innovative. Features which
have been incorporated into the meeting include a live telesurgery
session, an audience response and participation session, breakfast
roundtables and debates, and a GYN Video Room/Internet Café. We
are also offering an anatomy/cadaver dissection course taught
by a superb faculty including Bob Rogers, John DeLancey and Marlene
Corton. The scientific program will be outstanding. We have received
more abstracts than ever before and the number of oral, video
and poster presentations has been increased to accommodate the
outstanding work of our members and guests. In addition, Marriott
Ranchos Las Palmas is a beautiful resort, and we expect a good
time to be had by all. We look forward to seeing you in Rancho
Mirage!!!

A special session on live-robotic telesurgery. Robotics is becoming
a fixture in a growing number of hospital operating rooms. This
session offers information on robotic techniques and insight into
the reasons that robotics will have a significant future in gynecologic
surgery. Mayo Clinic Scottsdale has one of the largest experiences
in gynecologic robotics and will simulcast two ongoing live surgeries:
a procedure on the da Vinci robot and a non-robotic laparoscopic
surgery. Each will use advanced techniques and differences in
instrumentation will be emphasized. Short video-vignettes will
supplement the description of techniques and anatomy.
