Associate Membership - Fellows

All fellows in three year Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, GYN Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology and other fellows in advanced gynecology surgical fields are eligible for membership as Associate Members of the Society. The application process for Associate Membership is the same as for Active Membership except for the case list and presentation. Associate members shall have equal rights of participation in the affairs of the society, but will not be eligible to vote or hold office or act as a proposer or endorser for new members until achieving Active membership status. (Application for Associate Membership must be made by December of the third year of fellowship.) The Associate Membership fee is $50.00 payable to the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons. Send to Melinda Letterman, 7800 Wolf Trail Cove, Germantown, TN 38138. Associate Members are encouraged to attend the SGS Annual Meetings. Fellows may complete and submit the online application (Click Here).

After the completion of fellowship, the Associate Member may apply for Active Membership through the usual process, submitting a case list and a cover letter requesting promotion to full membership, as well as endorsement of an Active Member. If the presentation requirement for membership is fulfilled as an Associate member, all other membership requirements should be fulfilled within 36 months of completing fellowship and be in good standing, at which time the Executive Committee will consider the application for Active Member status. If the Associate Member has not completed the presentation requirement during fellowship, application for Active Membership status will be as currently outlined in the Bylaws.
