It is with great excitement that I pen the first “Presidential Corner” address of my SGS Presidential Term.  I would like to congratulate Immediate Past President Stephen Metz, MD and Scientific Program Chair, Charles Rardin, MD for a fantastic Annual Scientific Meeting in Orlando last month.  The scientific program was first rate including a memorable debate on power morcellation and an inspiring Keynote Lecture by David Grimes, MD on evidenced based surgical practice.  In addition, the social events were really enjoyable...read more

Fellow Scholars Tweet and Blog About SGS

Six SGS Fellow Scholars were awarded scholarships to attend the 41st Annual Scientific Meeting. These awards were supported by Coloplast, Cooper Surgical, Intuitive Surgical, Karl Storz Endoscopy-America, Inc., Medtronic and OBG Management.

 SGS Mentees Honor 30 Mentors

SGS is a Society deeply rooted in the concept of mentorship and we were pleased to launch the Honor Your Mentor program at the 41st Annual Scientific Meeting in Orlando, FL. This program was developed as a way for SGS members and guests to recognize mentors who have shaped their careers, while also supporting and fostering the mission of SGS.

SGS is proud to present the 30 honored Mentors here.


SGS Announces the Donald G. Gallup, MD Fund

SGS was pleased to announce the formation of the Donald G. Gallup, MD Fund at the 2nd Annual Fund Development Reception, Mojito Night in the Caribbean, at the 41st Annual Scientific Meeting. This fund will support the Distinguished Surgeon Award. Click here to contribute to this new SGS named fund.

 


 SGS Systematic Review Group (SRG) Update

This year in Orlando the SGS Systematic Review Group (SRG) met for the ninth year in a row.  Our group’s membership has changed over the years, but our mission remains the same:  To systematically review the important subjects and controversies in the field of gynecologic surgery and to produce evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.  Click here to find out more about what the SRG has been up to lately.
