  • Mentoring Experience - Monday, March 12 from 5:30 - 6:30 pm
    (Ticketed Event)
Mentorship has been defined as a relationship in which a more experienced or more knowledgeable person helps to guide a less experienced or less knowledgeable person. Mentors help mentees with development of proper problem-solving and decision-making techniques, the demonstration of technical skills, developing interpersonal abilities, and providing personal guidance. Many industries are rapidly recognizing the importance of a formal mentorship program so that finding a mentor is not left to the lucky few who happen to meet a wise and trusted counsellor. SGS is pleased to offer a Mentorship Mingle. This event with seasoned SGS leaders is designed to connect experienced gynecologists with younger physicians and residents through an informal small group setting to discuss a variety of topics. Learn from your mentors, their past career and life experiences, and foster a relationship that can help you advance as a professional.

  • Academic Roundtables - Tuesday, March 13 from 6:30 - 7:30 am
    (Ticketed Event)
For meaningful networking opportunities and untapped information, you must participate in the academic roundtable event. Typically composed of ten people, roundtable discussions are an extremely effective forum to discuss and debate specific topics. Residents are encouraged to participate and engage and share experiences with the host as well as the other table participants.
  • Welcome Reception - Sunday, March 11 at 6 -7 pm
Come join your colleagues at a casual wine and beer welcome reception. Your first drink is on-the-house. This is the place to meet with your old and new colleagues, relax and make plans for dinner to celebrate being together for a very fun and inspiring SGS Annual Scientific Meeting.
  • Fellows Pelvic Research Network (FPRN)® - Monday, March 12 from 2:35 - 5:30 pm

In 2007, the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons (SGS) sponsored the creation of the first fellows multi-center research network the Fellows’ Pelvic Research Network (FPRN)® to promote research training and expose fellows to multi-center studies. The idea for this research network was suggested by a fellow. SGS considers the FPRN® an important initiative within the context of its mission statement to promote education and research in Gynecologic Surgery.

The purpose of the FPRN® is to enable fellows to work together cooperatively and conduct multi-center research projects. The FPRN® and its research projects are operating under the mentorship and supervision of the Advisory Board which includes representatives from the SGS Executive Board and Research Committee.Residents who attend the annual meeting are encouraged to attend and participate in the meeting
