SGS GOLF TOURNAMENT (Ticketed Event - $189)

Tuesday, March 28, 2018 - 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM
La Cantera Resort Course

It is time to see who will unseat the reigning team champions Darren Hansen, Scott Day, Gregg Kanter and James Lee,  women’s closest to the pin winner Marci Bowers, men’s closest to the pin winner Scott Day,  women’s longest drive winner Anita York, and men’s longest drive winner Terry White. No prizes were awarded to best dressed Peter Rosenblatt  and Stephanie Molden, but a style statement they did make!!!  All expect Mark Walters  and Fifi Paraiso  to challenge strongly for this year’s best dressed duffers.

Designed by noted golf course architect Jay Morrish and PGA professional Tom Weiskopf, The Resort Course at La Cantera winds through the Texas Hill Country offering breathtaking views, the most notable being a sheer 80‐foot drop from the 7th tee to the fairway. Six holes have breathtaking views of San Antonio, Six Flags Fiesta Texas and the scenic Texas Hill Country. Natural features include natural water features, streams, live oak groves, limestone rock outcroppings and 75 dramatic white sand bunkers.

The course is onsite. The general session ends at 1:10 pm followed by a 20 minute SGS Member Meeting. We anticipate playing all 18 holes with a shotgun start at 2:15 pm.

The format will be a four man/woman scramble eighteen hole tournament where everyone hits a shot. The best ball is chosen, everyone hits the next shot from there; best ball is chosen and this continues until the ball is holed out. There is absolutely no pressure on anyone except to have a good time with our colleagues and cocktails on a beautiful golf course. We encourage all who play a little or no golf during the year to join us as golf is secondary to the great times we have on the golf course. The $189 fee covers the round of golf, golf cart, prizes for the first and second place teams, longest drive men and women and closest to the pin men and women and up to four cocktails, beer, sodas or snacks.

We should finish the round by 7 pm and will have time to clean up for the Fund Development "Texas Hoedown" which will start at 7:30 pm until 10:00 pm. The prizes for the golf tournament will be announced during the "Texas Hoedown" event.

Rental clubs are available for $60 and includes 6 golf balls. Please make sure to secure your rental clubs at the pro shop prior to the day of the tournament.

Last year we had a blast and this year will be even better. Please join us!
