2015 SGS FELLOW SCHOLAR PROGRAM

At the 2015 Society of Gynecologic Surgeons (SGS) scientific meeting March 22-25, 2015 in Orlando, Florida, SGS is pleased to be continuing the Fellow Scholar program. The selected fellow(s) will be invited to attend the meeting (airfare, registration and hotel included). We anticipate that we will have 3-4 opportunities this year. The intention is to expose the fellows to a scientific meeting that they may not have had the opportunity to experience.

The meeting agenda also includes participation in the Fellows Pelvic Research Network (FPRN) meeting on Monday afternoon March 23. The FPRN was established in 2006 and is mentored by the SGS Research Committee composed of senior scientists. FPRN was the first fellows’ multi-center research network devoted to gynecology. The purpose of the FPRN is to enable fellows to work together cooperatively and conduct multi-center research projects.

In 2015 SGS will also continue to present a mock NIH study session as part of the annual meeting agenda and the selected fellow may have the opportunity to participate.

As a “scholar” the fellow will be recognized at the opening session and will be expected to tweet, post to Facebook, and/or blog regarding her/his experiences during the SGS Scientific Meeting. We will provide additional information to the selected scholars.

Please nominate a fellow(s) that would benefit from this experience and submit your fellowship director/preceptor letter of support, the fellow’s CV and his/her 250 word essay on why they would like to be an SGS Fellow Scholar entitled "What will I take from SGS and what will I give to SGS”. It is critical that the fellow includes information about his/her expertise with social media. Please click here to access the link to upload information and documents. All applications need to be received by January 31, 2015. Applications will be reviewed by the SGS Selection Committee and the fellows that are selected will receive an email with specific information about transportation and meeting information by February 6.

We hope that your fellows will apply for this exciting, educational opportunity provided by SGS.
